Το ΤΙΜΠΟΥΚΤΟΥ αφηγείται την κατοχή της πόλης του Μάλι το 2012 από τζιχαντιστές και στήνει ένα πορτραίτο μιας χώρας υπό ομηρεία. Η ιστορία περιστρέφεται γύρω από το θάνατο μιας αγελάδας, με το όνομα GPS, «ένα κατάλληλο σύμβολο για μια χώρα που έχει χάσει το δρόμο της», σύμφωνα με τον Peter Bradshaw του The Guardian. Στην ταινία, οι Ισλαμιστές ζηλωτές απαγορεύουν αθώες απολαύσεις, όπως η μουσική και το ποδόσφαιρο, ενώ δεν διστάζουν να χρησιμοποιήσουν το μαστίγωμα ή το λιθοβολισμό στην άσκηση της εξουσίας τους.
